Every once in a while an advertisement crosses the screen that does not merely make a bold promise. It grabs the promise, straps a rocket to it, lights the fuse, and waits to see whether anybody asks questions before clicking the button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is roughly how we ended up looking at Polsia<\/strong>, an AI platform being marketed as an autonomous \u201cAI co-founder\u201d capable of helping launch, build, market, and operate a business. Polsia itself is very real, and unlike some of the questionable products that have appeared in previous installments of Something Stinks, there appears to be a substantial piece of software behind the advertising. The company describes its platform as an autonomous system capable of planning businesses, writing software, deploying products, running marketing campaigns, interacting with customers, and continuing to work while the human founder sleeps. Polsia\u2019s own material repeatedly describes the service as an AI system that \u201cplans, codes, and markets your company 24\/7.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is already an ambitious pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Facebook decided ambition was not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One advertisement we encountered described Polsia as \u201cbasically OnlyFans for men.\u201d<\/strong> Exactly what an autonomous business-development platform has to do with OnlyFans is apparently left as an exercise for the reader. The comparison seems designed primarily to make someone stop scrolling long enough to wonder what in the hell they just read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another advertisement was much more interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It showed a man apparently waking up to discover a $4,210 payment<\/strong> from a business he claimed to have described to Polsia in a single sentence the previous Tuesday, after which he supposedly let the AI run the company itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that is where the skunk started sniffing around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Type One Sentence, Go to Bed, Wake Up With $4,210?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

That is an enormously powerful marketing image because it tells an entire story without having to explicitly promise the same result to everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have an idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You tell the AI about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AI does all the annoying work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You go about your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A week later, somebody sends you thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technically, that story can be presented without saying, \u201cYou will make $4,210 next week.\u201d Psychologically, however, the message is difficult to miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We searched for independent documentation of that particular $4,210 result and were unable to find enough information to establish what actually happened behind the screenshot. We could not independently determine what the company sold, whether the founder already had an audience or customer relationships, how much money had been spent acquiring the customer, whether other people were involved, whether the payment represented gross revenue or actual profit, or whether this result was typical of Polsia customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That does not mean the payment was fake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It means a $4,210 payment without the surrounding numbers tells us almost nothing about whether the underlying business made $4,210.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A company can collect $4,210 and still lose money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That distinction matters considerably when the advertising is selling the dream of an autonomous business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polsia Is Not Just Another Chatbot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To give Polsia credit where it is due, the underlying idea is genuinely interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not simply a chatbot that gives you a business plan and wishes you luck. Polsia positions itself as an operational platform. Its materials describe software development, deployment, customer acquisition, Meta advertising, customer communication, infrastructure management, product iteration, and ongoing business operations as functions the system can perform. Polsia has even published material claiming its system can effectively replace the coordination normally required between developers, marketing people, and operations staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company has also developed what it calls God Mode<\/strong>, where the AI can be instructed to continue working autonomously for a selected period instead of waiting for the user to request each new task. Polsia describes God Mode as working continuously for anywhere from one hour to seven days. According to Polsia\u2019s own April 2026 announcement, one hour cost $19, while continuously running the system for a full week could bring the hourly cost below $6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is legitimately fascinating technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also quite different from the mental image created by \u201cI typed one sentence Tuesday and woke up to $4,210.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because once you start looking under the hood, there are considerably more moving parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The $49 AI Employee Has Other Expenses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Polsia has repeatedly advertised access beginning around $49 per month<\/strong>, including articles on its own website describing the service as handling planning, development, deployment, and marketing from a single platform at that price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But $49 per month is not necessarily the total operating cost of a business running through Polsia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God Mode can cost additional money. Advertising requires an advertising budget. Polsia\u2019s own help documentation says that when customers fund managed advertising, a 20% platform fee<\/strong> is deducted from the advertising balance as those ads run. In other words, putting $100 into the advertising system does not necessarily mean $100 is going directly toward purchasing advertisements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there are payment-processing fees. Stripe fees can apply when your customers pay you. Depending on which piece of Polsia\u2019s own documentation you read, there is also a Polsia platform fee taken from customer payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this is where things become particularly interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polsia Apparently Disagrees With Polsia About Its Own Fees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As of this writing, Polsia\u2019s Terms of Service<\/strong>, last updated August 25, 2026, state that Polsia currently charges a 3% platform fee on customer payments<\/strong>. The Terms provide an example in which a $100 customer payment results in $97 being credited to the organization while Polsia retains $3. Stripe processing charges may apply separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those same Terms say customer payments are currently subject to a 31-day settlement period<\/strong> before becoming available for payout. They also state that withdrawals currently have a $50 minimum<\/strong> and a $500-per-calendar-month cap<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now visit Polsia\u2019s own help center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its article titled \u201cAccept payments on your site\u201d<\/strong> currently tells customers something dramatically different. According to that page, a business owner keeps 80% of every payment<\/strong>, while Polsia takes a flat 20% platform fee per charge<\/strong>, with Stripe processing fees deducted separately. That help article also describes payments going into the connected account and Stripe paying them out automatically, usually within a day or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three percent versus twenty percent is not a rounding error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirty-one days versus a day or two is not a minor wording difference either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is entirely possible that the help article simply has not been updated following a major change in Polsia\u2019s payment structure. The Terms of Service are newer and would ordinarily be the document we would consider more authoritative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when your advertising revolves around creating businesses that supposedly generate money autonomously, your public documentation really should agree on how much of that money the customer keeps and when the customer can withdraw it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before putting significant revenue through the platform, we would absolutely want Polsia to clarify which policy currently applies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revenue Is Not Profit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This brings us back to that $4,210 advertisement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suppose the payment is completely legitimate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did it cost to generate?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was there a $49 subscription? Were additional AI tasks or autonomous work purchased? Was an advertising campaign running? How much advertising money was spent? Was Polsia taking 3% or 20% of customer revenue when that payment occurred? What did Stripe take? Was there software infrastructure involved? Were there refunds, chargebacks, taxes, or other operating expenses?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of those questions prove anything improper happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They simply demonstrate why \u201cI woke up to a $4,210 payment\u201d is not the same sentence as \u201cI made $4,210 profit while sleeping.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the recurring problems with online business advertising. Gross revenue makes beautiful screenshots. Net profit requires a spreadsheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The screenshots usually get more likes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cAutonomous\u201d Business Still Has an Owner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is another important reality buried underneath the autonomous-business concept: somebody still owns the responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polsia can automate actions, but the human user does not magically cease being responsible for the company. Its Terms make clear that users remain responsible for numerous aspects of the businesses they operate, including transaction-related activities, customer obligations, refunds and disputes, taxes, auto-renewal requirements, and other legal responsibilities associated with selling products and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is not unusual or unreasonable. Polsia is providing software, not accepting legal responsibility for whatever company a user tells it to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it does put a very large asterisk beside the popular phrase \u201cAI runs your company for you.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI may perform the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is still yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So are the consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That distinction becomes particularly important when the AI is allowed to operate autonomously, spend advertising money, communicate with customers, deploy websites, write marketing material, or modify a business while the owner is not actively watching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a considerable difference between an AI assistant and an AI employee with the corporate credit card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then We Looked at the Reviews<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Customer reviews are never definitive proof that a product is good or bad. Unhappy customers are often more motivated to leave reviews, circumstances differ, software changes quickly, and every platform eventually encounters users who expected something different from what they purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, patterns are worth noticing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of our research, Polsia had a 2.2 out of 5 TrustScore on Trustpilot with more than 100 reviews<\/strong>, and approximately 67% of those reviews were one-star ratings<\/strong>. Complaints repeatedly mentioned unreliable task execution, credits being consumed while problems remained unresolved, website errors, money spent trying to fix previous errors, and frustration with autonomous actions or support. There are also positive reviews from users who say Polsia has helped them rapidly build products and operate businesses, so the feedback is not universally negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the more interesting details is Polsia\u2019s response to several negative reviews. Rather than pretending problems never existed, company responses acknowledge that reliability and task execution are areas the company continues to improve<\/strong>. That actually lends some credibility to the idea that Polsia is a rapidly evolving platform experiencing growing pains rather than simply a nonexistent product wrapped around aggressive advertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are customers who appear genuinely impressed with what Polsia can accomplish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also customers who appear genuinely furious about what it accomplished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is exactly why we would not hand it an autonomous business and disappear for a week without watching what it was doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Technology May Be Better Than the Advertisement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is where Polsia becomes more interesting than the average Something Stinks subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are not looking at an obviously fake product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, the underlying concept might represent a significant direction for AI-assisted small business. An autonomous system capable of building software, managing routine marketing, testing ideas, answering customers, monitoring products, and continuing work after the owner goes to sleep could be incredibly valuable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a solo entrepreneur who understands what the AI is doing and actively supervises it, something like Polsia could potentially provide enormous leverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem is that \u201cenormous leverage\u201d is harder to advertise than \u201cI typed one sentence and woke up to $4,210.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One describes a tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other describes a fantasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And good technology does not need fantasy to be interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, Does Something Stink?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it is not necessarily the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the marketing fog surrounding the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polsia appears to be a real autonomous AI business platform with genuinely ambitious capabilities. It may be useful. It may even represent an early look at how small businesses will eventually operate with AI agents performing much of the repetitive work currently handled by employees, contractors, and business owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we cannot substantiate from the advertisement is the suggestion that someone can casually describe a business in one sentence, walk away, and reasonably expect thousands of dollars to materialize the following week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also cannot ignore the substantial amount of negative customer feedback, the additional costs that may exist beyond the headline subscription price, or the striking disagreement between Polsia\u2019s own Terms and Help Center concerning payment fees and payout timing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those are things prospective customers deserve to understand before<\/strong> handing an autonomous AI system control over an actual business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Polsia experiment may eventually prove that an AI really can run much of a company while its owner sleeps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if an AI is going to be your co-founder, we would suggest treating it like an actual co-founder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know what it is spending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know what it is promising customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know what it is building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Know what percentage of the money is disappearing before it reaches you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And maybe check on it occasionally before going to bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because whether the co-founder is human or artificial, waking up to discover what it has been doing all night can produce considerably more than a $4,210 surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why, for now, the skunk remains on duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
