Website Health Check
A practical, human-reviewed assessment of what is helping your website, what is hurting it, and what deserves attention first.
Your Website Can Be “Working” and Still Be Costing You Business
A small-business website does not have to be completely broken to be underperforming. Slow pages, confusing navigation, weak calls to action, outdated wording, neglected mobile layouts, missing trust signals, inconsistent service information, broken links, thin pages, or a homepage that no longer reflects the business can quietly reduce the value of the entire site.
The Valhalla Computers Website Health Check is for business owners who know something may need attention but do not want to begin with a redesign pitch, a giant technical audit, or an automated warning list with no sense of priority. We review the site as both a visitor and a practical website operator, then explain what we find in plain English.
What We Review
First Impression & Customer Clarity
Is it immediately clear what the business does, who it serves, and what the visitor should do next? We review homepage messaging, major service descriptions, visible calls to action, contact paths, and overall clarity.
Navigation & Site Organization
We look for buried information, confusing labels, duplicate pages, dead ends, clutter, and navigation that makes important information harder to find than it should be.
Mobile Usability
We review obvious phone and tablet problems such as unreadable text, awkward spacing, hard-to-use buttons, broken columns, oversized elements, and layouts that no longer behave properly.
Content Quality & Freshness
We look for outdated service descriptions, stale offers, inconsistent terminology, weak headlines, thin pages, and opportunities to answer customer questions more clearly.
Basic Search Visibility
We review obvious on-page SEO issues such as titles, headings, meta descriptions, internal links, weak page topics, and missing alt text. This is practical on-page review, not a ranking guarantee.
Technical Housekeeping
Where appropriate, we look for update neglect, plugin/theme clutter, broken links, caching problems, missing backup practices, and other maintenance concerns.
Conversion & Trust
We review whether the site gives customers enough confidence and direction to take the next step: contact information, service area, testimonials, portfolio material, scheduling, policies, and other trust signals.
Priority, Not Panic
Not every warning deserves immediate money. We separate meaningful problems from low-priority noise and organize the findings so you know what should be handled first.
What You Receive
- A human-reviewed written Website Health Check for one website/domain.
- A prioritized list of findings grouped by urgency and likely impact.
- Plain-English explanations of why each meaningful issue matters.
- Practical recommendations for what to fix, improve, remove, expand, or leave alone.
- Identification of quick wins that can often be handled without a major project.
- Notes on areas that may require a developer, host, designer, SEO specialist, or other resource.
- A short “what to do first” action plan so the report becomes a working document instead of shelf decoration.
Standard Scope
The standard Website Health Check covers one small-business website and focuses primarily on the homepage, main navigation, major service/product pages, contact or conversion path, and a representative sample of supporting content. Very large websites, membership systems, complex ecommerce stores, custom web applications, or multi-site installations may require a separate quote because they cannot be meaningfully reviewed within the standard scope.
This service is an assessment. It is not a penetration test, malware investigation, legal-compliance certification, accessibility certification, or guarantee of search-engine rankings. If we see something concerning, we will point it out and recommend the appropriate next step.
Not Automatically Included
- Hands-on repairs or redesign work.
- Custom programming or plugin development.
- Malware removal or hacked-site recovery.
- Full technical SEO campaigns or backlink work.
- Legal, tax, financial, accessibility, privacy, or regulatory certification.
- Hosting migrations or large-scale ecommerce testing.
If the review identifies work that Valhalla Computers can handle, we can quote that work separately. You are never required to hire us for the follow-up work.
One-time Website Health Check for one qualifying small-business website. After purchase, we will contact you for the site address, your main concerns, and any additional information needed to complete the review.
What Happens After Purchase
1. Tell Us About the Site
Send the website address and explain what concerns you most.
2. We Review It
We examine the customer experience and appropriate technical information safely.
3. We Organize the Findings
Problems are separated into meaningful priorities instead of dumped into one automated list.
4. You Decide What Happens Next
Fix things yourself, send the report to your existing developer, or ask Valhalla Computers for a separate quote.
Not Sure Whether This Is the Right Starting Point?
If your site is actively broken, hacked, offline, or suffering from a specific urgent technical problem, a Health Check may not be the best first move.
